Honestly, this machine is the Gaming PC from the future. As crazy as it looks, this machine has one of the most unseen chassis that looks like a futuristic robot.
It’s kinda looks similar to ClapTrap from Borderlands 3 but just the look of it is really really cool. Yes, the tech specs are great of course and we will further look into that later in this article.
But, just having this machine on your desk will definitely make you feel like you’ve been living in 2077 or 3077.
Overview of MSI MEG Aegis Ti5
The naming of this MSI machine really reminds me of the game Dota 2. Because in Data 2, there is an item called “Aegis of Immortal” which is one of the most important and valued item in Dota 2. While in Dota 2, their yearly Battle Pass naming sequence also follows that Ti5, Ti6, Ti7 sequence and right now, Dota 2 is going to launch their Ti 11 so, I am pretty excited for that.
MSI MEG Aegis Ti5 is one of the most bizarre looking gaming PC’s on the market. Clearly just from the looks, it’s practically very different. And I am sure, there’s going to be lots of gaming pc companies that are going to follow this design in the future. But does it stick to our gaming standards?, Will such design affect our gaming performance?, How upgradable is this machine for future improvements? Let’s find out!.
The first thing we see about this gaming PC is that it’s got beautifully placed RGB’s that really match with the design. You see two RGB strips on the front, the MSI LOGO which honestly looks really cool and you’ve got RGB’s again on the sides and bottom.
The reason why I just love their RGB lighting is that, unlike in other gaming pc’s where RGB’s lighting is just too hard or strong. Of course they look great too. But adding a bit of softness to the lights just makes it look really premium and high quality.
Speaking about power and specs, The MSI MEG Aegis Ti5 is packed with some serious heart throbbing power and performance. It comes with Intel Core i9 -10900K CPU, the latest beast RTX 3080 and is configurable with 64 GB to 128 GB of RAM and 1 TB or 2 TB SSD storage.
Currently, the Aegis T15 is listed with the starting price tag of $4500 which gets you an RTX 3070 machine with 64GB RAM and an Intel Core i7 – 10700K CPU and 2TB Storage. Just looking at the base model price tag, this is machine is definitely very expensive and for the same price tag, you can get a i9 Machine with RTX 3080 GPU on other Gaming PC’s.
Regardless of how expensive the MSI MEG Aegis Ti5 is, there is no doubt, the gaming PC looks really cool and it comes loaded with amazing features that make it worth your money.
MSI MEG Aegis Ti5 – Design
We’ve said enough about the Aegis Ti5 already, because it’s design just speaks for itself.
But when you first look at the Aegis Ti5, it will remind you of a robotic device that you’ve just spent $4500 dollars on.
The normal touch on the surface feels pretty premium and meal like, while when you actually carry it, the weight just makes it feel like luxury item that is indeed extremely valuable. Think of it as when you touch the sides or surfaces of a Toyota car, now compare that with a Lamborghini, that’s what I really mean here.
What’s genius about the Aegis Ti5 design is that it comes with a “Rotatable Dial”, or so they call it “Gamer Dial”. It right in front of the case and when you see it from far, it looks like the “Robot’s Eye”.
The dial rotates in the most satisfying way possible, very smooth buttery feels here, and very very premium. The Dial can actually used for many different functions like changing the volume, switching between different performance modes, it can display animations, CPU Temperatures, CPU frequencies, Changing audio, or you can even display your own Gaming LOGO if you are a creator.
I think the addition of Dial is really cool and it does make your life much much easier. Now you don’t have to go to the desktop to turn down the volume. You don’t have to cycle through the settings every time to change performance modes and there many more things that you can do with the Dial which is upon you for exploration.
Besides that, for those who go crazy with RGB lighting fans, unfortunately the case is windowless, meaning, you won’t be able to see your Graphics cards, Fans, and RAM’s lighting up. But in my opinion, the windowless design option is actually better because it compliments with the overall design of the chassis.
The body is build with part plastic and part metal which feels extremely premium. The handles are made of metal and they are strong and bold. When you actually carry the whole case, you will feel that it’s really durable and sturdy.
Also, the weight of the case makes it feel even more premium. It weights around 17kgs which is 371 lbs and that is pretty heavy. It also comes with two foldable handle bars, that when unfolded looks like an ear extension. You can hang headphones, mic’s, drinks, food or anything out there. It’s a very reliable addition.
“The Best desktop for gaming, MSI MEG Aegis Ti5, leads the trend of the future by bringing out the most powerful and interactive desktop in the gaming industry. Equipped with the latest 10th Gen Intel Core i9 K series, Nvidia Ampere MSI GeForce RTX 30 series graphics card , this desktop savior topples any game and blazes through all rendering challenges” – YouTube
MSI MEG Aegis Ti5 – Performance
Coming to performance, the Aegis Ti5 is a beast. It’s a over highly overpowered PC with excess amounts of power. You can literally play almost any type or form of game in maximum settings, 4K resolution and you will still get amazing frame rates.
I played the Cyberpunk 2077 in maximum settings, buffed with Ray-Tracing Enabled and the game still ran smoothly like butter. Coming to other games like Tomb Raider and World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, I was able to get above 130fps on maximum graphics settings.
Now the thing is 128 GB of RAM is just too much. Apple Laptops come with 128 GB of storage and having that much amount of RAM is unnecessary. But the advantage of having a lot of RAM is that there will be lots of room for Multi-Tasking.
Meaning, you can run an export of a 4K video rendering and still open 10 Tabs of Chrome, and still play high end Title – AAA games on maximum settings. That’s the kind of performance we are talking about here with the Aegis Ti5.
“The MEG series seeks to transcend current gaming products, the flagship model designed to push the limits of what an extreme gaming series can be. Combining the strengths of our existing arsenal with new innovative technology; this results in significant improvements in operational and gaming efficiency. With the MEG series, take complete control of performance and personalization with the ultimate gaming series for enthusiasts who want it all.” – MSI
While playing Total War: Three Kingdoms, The MSI MEG Aegis Ti5 got over 135 fps at Ultra settings. And Metro Last night got around 118 fps at Ultra settings.
The Cinebench R20 score came up to be 6405 points. Fire Strike, 29,445 points and Geekbench 5 Single Core and Multi-core 1439 and 10,898 respectively. The scores are no doubt great and if you have doubts about performance then you need not worry at all. Because if you have this machine, you might not need to invest in any upgrades for the next 3 to 5 years.
However, if you do want to upgrade then the MSI Aegis Ti5 is very much upgradable and future proof. You can swap the side panels and get an inside look of the chassis, where you will find the mATX Z490 motherboard. The internals can be completely upgraded and there are an extra three Display ports that can be used for adding additional external monitors. The Chassis of Aegis Ti5 is actually a Micro-ATX case and it’s pretty heavy to have that kind of case.
MSI MEG Aegis Ti5 – Final Verdict
The MSI MEG Aegis Ti5 is no doubt, one of the most unique Gaming PC’s that have come out this year. And we are definitely hoping to see more future variations of this kind of design from MSI.
Speaking about performance, yes, it’s one of the fastest and most powerful Gaming PC you can get on the market. Of course, there’s Alienware Aurora R9 that comes with better performance for the price.
But ultimately, you are only seeing a performance difference of a maximum 5 to 10 fps. Because the RTX 3080 is more than enough to run most of the high end games alone.
Therefore, I’d say, if you want that “Gamer Dial” and that amazing futuristic design and you also have loads of money. I think, the MSI MEG Aegis Ti5 is worth buying. Especially, if you are a creator or a Twitch Gamer. I like the fact that you can display your own LOGO on the Dial screen itself which works really well with Branding yourself.
Otherwise, it’s really expensive and unless you are willing to spend 3 grand to 4 grand, it’s not worth buying at all.
