Top 8 Best Counter Strike GO Players in the World

When we talk about Counter-Strike, we are talking about a game that has shaped how the world looks at eSports. It’s one of the most legendary games of all time and it’s one of those games that we all share a ton of amazing gaming memories.

Forget Fortnite, Apex Legends, and many other Battle Royale games, they are in fact just kids in front of Counter-Strike and even though gamers play those gamers, when it comes to playing Counter-Strike, the fun is all very different. It’s not about being the best, showing your skills and dancing around the ring, CS is for those serious hardcore gamers who just want to improve their skills to the highest level possible in the most original and royal way. Best of all, CS is about enjoying the FPS ecosystem and maintaining that level of dignity which comes with FPS games.

With that said, Here are the Top 8 Best Counter Strike GO Players in the World

1. Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev

A Na Vi member, Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev is one of the best and most furious, aggressive and skilled CS:GO player of all time. His insane aiming skills and combat tactics and sense of gameplay and strategy has made “s1mple” a 1 vs 5 boss for the team.

s1mple has been featured on the HLTV Top 20 Players of the Year lists numerous times, finishing top of the rankings in 2018, due to unprecedented personal performance throughout the year, an achievement whose legacy he has carried into 2019, leading many to call him one of the best Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players of all time.

2. Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg

F0rest is a Swedish CS GO professional gamer who holds the ranking’s top 2 spot thanks to his high-level plays during major events like Dreamhack and ESL Katowice.

At the age of 16, Patrik won his first professional win. An OptiHack victory earned him € 730.

After winning at the country’s biggest event and the prize pool of € 10,000, f0rest became a part of the Swedish World eSports Team. Sweden’s national team showed an excellent level of success there. But f0rest’s golden time began a bit later when he got an offer from Fnatic.

F0rest has been wearing the NiP T-shirt since 2013. He continues to play as a rifler and AWPer for Ninjas.

F0rest eventually wore the colors of Ninjas in Pajamas in 2013, a team where he has continued to win international competitions to this day.

3. Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund

It is difficult to argue that one of the best of all time CS:GO player is the Swedish player Christopher “GeT RiGhT” Alesund. One of the community’s older players, at age 29, GeT RiGhT hasn’t let age stop him from breaking records and making his name with his talent in Counter-Strike Tournaments.

He holds the long-standing record of consecutive wins in CS: GO, with an unbroken streak of 87 games that he set while playing under Ninjas in Pajamas in the early days of the game. Although he has dropped on the leaderboards in recent years, GeT RiGhT has retained a position as “King of CS: GO” for far longer than many others, winning 20 International Titles and finishing Top 8 in dozens more.

He dominated the leaderboards in his early days of the game, at a period when many people were struggling with accuracy and a huge influx of worldwide exposure to top professional players. Despite that, we would still remember him as the hero of the glory days of CS:GO.

4. Richard “shox” Papillon

Richard “Shox” Papillon, a globally renowned French player on the French eSports team VeryGames, Shox is recognised for how easy it is to dominate the game. He was one of the best players for the first CS: Source Match, so anybody who learned or watched his gamply in CS: GO won’t have any questions about it.

Not only did he bring himself to the top of the game rankings, but he also took VeryGames from underdog to world champions in the esport tournaments, surpassing Ninjas in Pajamas in 2013 to become the greatest CS: GO squad in the world.

In recent years, he took Titan’s squad to equally high levels of popularity, and he played for a number of various teams including NiP and Titan, who all gained at the time from the second highest player (Coldzera even from the NiP group was known to rise up only above the Shox ranking). He was one of the most feared player on his highest level of success, and that’s what made him so high on the list.

5. Kenny “kennyS” Schrub

Kenny “kennyS” Schrub can pick the shots of his opponents from incredible angles and shots are quick and extremely accurate, and as the only goal of his game is only to amuse himself, even though sniper is considered to be a difficult job among the most talented players. Sniper can always do much better among their key position as a sniper.

Sadly, KennyS has been able to stay for so long with any team. Perhaps his future had been more unpredictable because of the relentless squad moves in France or because of his bad results in VeryGames, however because of his unbreakable ability he’s been retained internationally in the top 10 for much of the last 6 years. He is still one of the most feared and talened AWPers of all time in CS:GO and some of his shots are so insane that something people feel like, he is hacking but it is just pure skill.

6. Nikola “NiKo” Kovac

Nikola ‘NiKo‘ Kovac has gradually developed his game since he began playing CS: GO in 2013, and has gone through increasingly renowned eSports groups until he found his place at FaZe where he has held till this day. He is one of the best players in the CS Clan FaZe: a GO squad that made him an effective strategic player with his aim and tactics.

Although his reputation could be well-known from his talent in top teams, he did not (yet) win major titles or elite awards, but ranked number 11 internationally since 2016.

7. Janusz “snax” Pogorzelski

Polish star Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski started playing the CS: GO at the end of 2013, just over a year after the release of the game and when the hundreds and thousands of hours of in-game practice have already been accumulated by other pro players. Yet somehow Snax was able to gain worldwide exposure as the next level AWPer for VirtusPro, and then Mousesports, where he transferred alongside his gaming mate Taz, due to his versatility and expertise.

In 2017 Snax only ranked # 20, an incredibly high point and is also the lowest in his career, given the slow burnout from Virtus.Pro, which for a reason reduced his ranking in worldwide leaderboards.

8. Marcelo “Coldzera” David

Michael “Coldzera” David has been the leading star of the CS: GO world for years and has been recognized for his skills by winning tournaments and competitions, earning an award from eSport Player of the Year and PC Player of the year at Game Awards of 2016. CS: GO has also received the Game of the Year Award.

Coldzera earned an MVP or Player of the Year Award from various groups and organizations (he is now playing MIBR, or Made in Brasil, his Latin American home team). After playing for Luminosity Gaming, he rose to great heights.
